Consistency isn’t a Moment

love, consistency, potential, John MaxwellIt’s important to love where you are in life today. If you can’t find joy and peace where you are, you won’t find it where you’re going. It’s a heart issue, between you and God. Make peace with your situation. Happiness is based on your happenings, but joy roots itself deep in the soul and doesn’t waver with your circumstance.

If you won’t give three people 100% of your efforts today, you won’t give 3,000 that commitment either. It’s an attitude. Don’t settle on just winging it through life… work for it! You have the potential for more. Don’t wait for an opportunity, make it the right opportunity now.

“Consistency will give you a compounding that no other trait will.” – John Maxwell. When you deliver every day and consistently add value to people there comes a time of return to it. It’s not in a moment, it is progressive. So practice being consistent where you’re at, with the people right in front of you.

Ideas for consistency could be showing your appreciation for loved ones, greeting your job with enthusiasm and giving your best effort, making it to the gym because that’s how you love your body, choosing wise people to surround yourself with, or choosing even wiser places to hang out in.

Take my hand, let’s love this place where we are and give it our best. Today, could be our day of deliverance. I’m ready for it, are you?

Worry is a Waste of Imagination

worry, imaginationNever be ashamed to admit that you can’t do it all.

Wisdom is recognizing what season you’re in and living according to that.

Change is the essence of life; be willing to surrender where you’re at for where you could go.

My advice is to keep God first, and His strength will give you what you need to make the rest of your decisions.

We all have different responsibilities, demands and distractions. When you choose to walk in the fear of the Lord, then it’s His job to find and provide the tools you need to get His work done.

Your Destiny Can’t Collect Dust

Even the pain works for your good

Every time God gives you a way out, you find a new way into a mess. Don’t let the fear of failure keep you from trying. No one has all the answers.

There’s nothing on your resume that should make God choose you, but He did.

Ignore the voice in your mind bringing up your flaws because no matter how many times you fail, no one can stop what God has your name on.

Your daddy owns the company. Nobody can apply for your position. You don’t have to be afraid of the competition. You can walk right in with the failures of your past and before you even speak, your Father in Heaven, the God of the universe says, “You’re Hired!”God's goodness, destiny, pain

Your destiny can’t collect dust. Even your pain will work for your good.

Not because you are good, but because God is good.

He is working behind the scenes right now. The heavens are shining up their edges because God knows you’re going to make it!

It’s time to let some things go. Where others are judging you, God justifies you. Don’t let their view of your circumstance keep you tied up.
For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison… (2 Corinthians 4:17).  Tell yourself what you’re facing today is just some light work. Let God take the heavy load by trusting when you pray that He’s got this one.

I’m praying in the power of Christ’s blood, that God’s power is working out the next phase in your life. May He restore in you the joy of your destiny… your salvation! In the end, you win!

God, finish what you started in us. Thank you for the pain, because only then did I realize how much you loved me. When others were throwing me away, you still loved me right where I was. Even when I was giving up on myself, You never did.

I declare nothing can separate me from the love of Christ. There’s nothing I can do that will make my God walk away and stop pursuing me. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing. He loves me in my mess, even still!

What’s Your Success Based On

thomas edison quote, success, close to success, failuresAre the goals you’ve set about performance and validation or your personal progress to be a better version of yourself?

When you set up a life focused on impressing others, you’ll be tempted to determine your self-worth based on the attention. Eventually, you may find yourself frustrated by the fleeting, fickle feelings and label your life a failure. You cannot achieve success based on a forced ability to impress.

Focus on pursuing challenges that develop character and opportunities to learn and expand your expertise. Try something new. In the last year, I’ve taken classes in swing dance, hip hop dance and paddle boarding. I recently started studying ‘doodling’ (with purpose, instead of boredom). Chances are, you won’t see me on Dancing with the Stars or art on display in the Smithsonian. I do these things to stretch and grow God’s craftsmanship in me.

It’s okay to make mistakes. Open doors to make many more of them. Believe you have what it takes. Remind yourself that each stumble and fall is still another step forward from where you were.
So what does success look like for you? Don’t give up on yourself just because the world gives up on you. You’re so close… stand up and try again.

You are Worthy

worthy, stars, brilliance, Ephesians 2:10, trishakeehn.comThe bite was only the culmination of a demise that began when Eve entered a conversation with the devil. And that’s what we do a lot. We talk. We rehearse on a daily basis what we don’t have or who we are not. We focus on the areas of our “garden” that seem just out of our reach or control. We take the seed of discontentment offered by the devil and inform our souls of our dissatisfaction, unhappiness, or displeasure.

We have a choice.

We can choose to believe what God’s Word says about who we are and who we are created to be, or we can entertain the lies planted by the enemy of our souls and cultivated by the culture we live in.

You are Worthy. That is what God says about who you are as a child of God created for His glory.

You don’t have to seek anyone else’s approval for the life God has given you to live. You don’t have to apologize for the strength, fortitude, courage, talent, beauty, or brains your Creator has given you.

We all are “God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” (Ephesians 2:10). #KingdomWoman

God Will Always Provide

It just might look different than what we had in mind

God will provide, Philippians 4:19, trishakeehn.comFaith involves looking beyond what you can see or the limitations that you face.

Maybe you don’t have enough time in the day to do all you need to do. Or maybe you don’t have the resources to carry out what needs to be done. It could be that you are struggling to raise your kids alone. Or it could be that you have received a report from your doctor that is not good.

Maybe your bank account is low, and you are doing all you can to find a job… and yet, God is asking you to still honor Him with a portion of your money.

Whatever the case, faith acts on the truth that even though you don’t have enough, God has more than enough, and He has promised to supply all that you need.

Philippians 4:19 And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.‪#‎KingdomWoman‬

Let It Go

or it may never let you go

let it go, freedom,

Let it go or it may never let you go. Life is a balance of holding on and letting go.

Whatever it is that you’re facing today, however it is impacting your life… LET IT GO!

The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still. – Exodus 14:14

Rock Rejection: 4 Ways to Process the Pain

rejection, progression, new direction, trishakeehn.comWe all face it at some point in our lives, whether it’s with our dreams, our job, our relationships, or even in ourselves. Rejection stirs up emotions of inadequacy. But I want you to know that feelings don’t change the quality of a God who designed you. Thoughts don’t alter the craftsmanship of character He created you to be.

Rejection is only negative if it stops you.

Process the rejection as progression in a new direction.

How can your deal with a letdown?

  • Don’t take it personally.
  • Expect rejection.
  • Expose yourself to more rejection. More opportunities for ‘no’ is another opportunity for yes.
  • Don’t overanalyze a ‘no’. Ask what you can do differently and move on.
Everything isn’t right for you, and you’re not right for everything. Reframe rejection by reminding yourself that this ‘no’ has delivered you one step closer in the direction of the destiny you are meant to have.

Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy. Ephesians 4:23 NLT

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:2 ESVrejection, confidence,

Do you know what God’s will is for you? It’s for you to glorify Him in all that we do, which includes how we think. So when you are tempted to feel less than desirable because rejection gave you the hand, remind yourself of the image of a great God you were created in and glorify Him for making you for something specific and specially tailored for you.

Let Jesus transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

Rejection can rock your enthusiasm. So rock rejection with your confidence.

How to Make a Decision

decisions, faith, God's strength, trishakeehn.com

One of the hardest decisions you’ll ever face in life is choosing whether to walk away or try harder. The next time you have a choice to make, ask yourself:

  • Which direction will build character and qualities in me that I need?
  • Where do I need to lean on God for the strength and less on my ability?
  • What brings peace and requires love?

Be careful not to let your emotions dictate the direction. Pray for God’s peace to lead you in the journey that is best the life He intended you to live.

Go Your Own Way

Can you remember who you were, before the world told you who you should be? Trying to be true to yourself in a world filled with noise and conformity and comparison is a challenge. Find who you are once more and don’t change for anyone. Not for a day, a minute, a second. Go your own way.
